As to "evolutionary dead end" - that is part of what we think about pay-per-click ad systems - that they are, in the end, a bad deal for both advertiser and searcher - both in regards to click fraud issues and on the basic economics of having to keep paying and paying and paying and paying for each additional click (which makes the search engines insanely profitable - but comes out of the pockets of all of the rest of us - either directly or indirectly).

On the other hand, with Advolution the advertiser pays only once to have a listing associated with a search term and thus, among many other things, there can be no click fraud.

PPC is a very fair system for the most part, except when you have those with deep pockets going up against those with limited budgets. I don't like it, but that's the way of the world in general. Fraud would not be an issue if the secondary distribution had the click incentive removed. That should be a low, flat rate distribution that is paid directly by the search provider, and it would be up to them to distribute ads that will get clicked on.

Conversion tracking is the realy key to making PPC sytems work and most have this in some form.

I like the idea of flat rate advertising, but I think Advoluntion's model of a bidded, one time fee also favors those with deep pockets.

I guess I need to take a closer look to decide what I think about this new system... (hris
